Chevrolet Volt is into its third year, and the 2018 version of the hybrid model is little changed from last year. The 18.4kw/hour lithium-ion battery pack allows for a range of up to 80 km using electric mode in the summer months and 70 km per litre when running on gasoline after the battery capacity is used up.

Vickar Community Chevrolet sales manager Devon Cuscito reports that the dealership currently has one Volt in stock and one more en route.

He notes that the Chevy Bolt, General Motors’ new all-electric vehicle, is attracting a lot of interest.  “We have 10-12 people a month asking about it,” he says.  “People want to come in and see it and take it for a test drive.

“But they are hard to get. We are also expecting to get one model this year.”

He describes the Bolt as an amazing car.  “Its range is up to 400 km,” he says.
